The Black Oyster is the realisation of a vision to create a contemporary home that lives lightly on the landscape. Conceived by its owners as a fully off-grid residence overlooking the coastline of Groot Brak, every element of the home reflects a commitment to sustainability, self-sufficiency and thoughtful design.
Commissioned as part of an editorial feature, my role was to document the property through architectural photography and aerial imagery, capturing not only the home itself but also the relationship between architecture, landscape and the vision that inspired it. Through carefully considered perspectives, natural light and an editorial approach, the imagery reveals a home where contemporary design and environmental responsibility exist in quiet harmony.
